He has been a news and sports reporter and anchor for both the NBC and ABC affiliates in Albany, as well as Lansing, MI, Utica, NY, Kingston, NY and Fredericksburg, VA. He began his career at CNBC working for Dick Cavett, Phil Donahue & Vladimir Pozner and Geraldo Rivera.
John is also the golf/bowling columnist for the Troy Record newspaper, hosts "Huck Finn's Capital Region Bowling," a weekly hour-long TV show, and is the editor of Capitalareagolf.com, a website covering the local golf scene.
As you might guess, golf is a sport he loves and wishes he was better at and had more time to devote. How he did it, we're still not sure, but last year he not only visited Augusta National and the Masters but somehow played Pebble Beach just a couple weeks before the 2010 U.S. Open.
John lives in Colonie with his wife. His parents still live in northern New Jersey, where he grew up with three brothers. His broadcasting days go back to high school at the 10-watt radio station. He's now added 49,990 more watts to his career.
