Three Facing Charges for Ripping off Wal-Mart

Three people are facing charges for stealing from the Brunswick Wal-Mart in two separate cases, according to the New York State Police.

First, on Sunday, June 8, Lisa Luongo, 46, of Troy was charged for taking $120 worth of groceries from the store without paying for them, police said. She was spotted by in-store security at the self-checkout counter scanning and paying for only a portion of the items in her cart, according to investigators.

Luongo was processed at the Brunswick barracks and released on an appearance ticket.

Second, two Troy women were seen by the store’s loss prevention personnel for taking about $88 worth of merchandise and hiding it in their hand bags, police said. As they left the store, Troopers showed up and arrested Bobbie Viele (left), 25, and Shawna Cook (right), 25, both from Troy, for petty larceny.

They were processed and released on appearance tickets.
