A couple is charged with felony burglary after a landlord found them burglarizing a building in Glenmont, according to Bethlehem Police.
On Friday, June 6, 2014, around 12:30 p.m., a Glenmont property owner entered his business and found a man inside, chased him outside but then the suspect pulled a knife and got into a car driven by a woman, police said. The property owner called 911 and got in his car to chase them into Watervliet until police stopped them.
Arrested were James Peltier, 33, of Cohoes, and Grace Norton, 25, of Mechanicville, police said. Peltier is charged with felony counts of Attempted Robbery, Burglary, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Conspiracy and misdemeanor counts of Possession of Burglar’s Tools and Attempted Petit Larceny while Norton was charged with felony counts of Burglary, Conspiracy and misdemeanor counts of Possession of Burglar’s Tools and Attempted Petit Larceny, police said.
Both were arraigned by Bethlehem Town Judge Ryan Donovan. Peltier was sent to the Albany County Jail without bail while Norton had bail set at $10,000 cash or bond. Both defendants are due back in town court Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at 5:30 PM for a preliminary hearing.
