Three nabbed for Guns, Drugs

Albany Detectives searched homes on Second Street and Broad Street Wednesday, finding crack, marijuana and a loaded handgun. It came from two separate search warrants, according to police.

On Wednesday, Sept. 25 around 5:15 p.m., detectives from the Community Response Unit raided 561 Second Street as part of an ongoing investigation. There they found a quantity of crack cocaine, marijuana, and a loaded .25-caliber handgun.

Michael BaxterMichael Baxter, 47, of Albany, was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of Marijuana and two counts of Criminal Use of Drug Paraphernalia.

Police also searched 94 Broad Street around 8 p.m. Wednesday, finding heroin and a .38-caliber handgun.

 

Keith StephensKeith Stephens, 29, of Albany, tried to run from the first floor up to a third floor apartment but was found and arrested. There were two children, ages 5 & 7, inside the first apartment and were unharmed. Stephens was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of a Weapon, Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Resisting Arrest.

 

 

Archie JohnsonArchie Johnson, 24, of Albany, was located on the second floor and arrested. He was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
All three have been arraigned and sent to the Albany County Jail.
