A Florida man has just a few scratches after he had to land his small plane in a field in Greenfield while returning to his summer home.
Bill Booth says he had taken off from Saratoga County Airport in Milton around 3 Tuesday afternoon when his single-engine amphibious plane experienced mechanical problems.
The 67-year-old says he picked out a field in neighboring Greenfield, but didn't realize until too late that it sloped downward. Booth says after crash landing, he had to turn the plane hard to prevent it from hitting a road.
The turn cased the plane's engine to fall off, but Booth was able to walk away.
Booth says he was headed to his home in Blue Mountain Lake in Hamilton County when the crash occurred.
