Flood Watch in Effect Starting Thursday Morning

More rain is in store for the Capital Region.  This follows a period of wet weather that has already dropped several inches of rain across the region in the past couple of weeks.  Here is the latest on the Flood Watch from the National Weather Service:

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGHSATURDAY MORNING...THE FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR* NORTHWEST CONNECTICUT...WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS AND EAST CENTRAL  NEW YORK...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...  ALBANY...COLUMBIA...DUTCHESS...GREENE...RENSSELAER...SCHENECTADY...  ULSTER...MONTGOMERY...SCHOHARIE...SOUTHERN FULTON...SOUTHERN  SARATOGA.* FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.* THE COMBINATION OF NEARLY SATURATED GROUND...ELEVATED RIVER  LEVELS AND FORECAST RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 4 INCHES MAY RESULT  IN FLOODING. THE HIGHEST RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE  ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST CATSKILLS...MID HUDSON VALLEY AND NORTHWEST  CONNECTICUT. FLASH FLOODING IS ALSO POSSIBLE IN PORTIONS OF THE  WATCH AREA.* RAIN IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN THURSDAY MORNING AND MAY BECOME HEAVY  AT TIMES THURSDAY AFTERNOON INTO THURSDAY NIGHT. RIVERS AND  STREAMS ARE ALREADY HIGH AND ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL LIKELY  BRING THESE LEVELS ABOVE FLOOD STAGE. IN ADDITION...RUNOFF IS  EXPECTED TO BE HIGHER THAN USUAL DUE TO THE NEARLY SATURATED  GROUND RESULTING IN MORE WIDESPREAD FLOODING.PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ONCURRENT FORECASTS.YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLEFLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BEPREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.
