Flood Watch in Effect Starting Thursday Morning

More rain is in store for the Capital Region.  This follows a period of wet weather that has already dropped several inches of rain across the region in the past couple of weeks.  Here is the latest on the Flood Watch from the National Weather Service:

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH
SATURDAY MORNING...

THE FLOOD WATCH CONTINUES FOR

* NORTHWEST CONNECTICUT...WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS AND EAST CENTRAL
  NEW YORK...INCLUDING THE FOLLOWING AREAS...
  ALBANY...COLUMBIA...DUTCHESS...GREENE...RENSSELAER...SCHENECTADY...
  ULSTER...MONTGOMERY...SCHOHARIE...SOUTHERN FULTON...SOUTHERN
  SARATOGA.

* FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH SATURDAY MORNING.

* THE COMBINATION OF NEARLY SATURATED GROUND...ELEVATED RIVER
LEVELS AND FORECAST RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 4 INCHES MAY RESULT
IN FLOODING. THE HIGHEST RAINFALL AMOUNTS ARE EXPECTED TO BE
ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST CATSKILLS...MID HUDSON VALLEY AND NORTHWEST
CONNECTICUT. FLASH FLOODING IS ALSO POSSIBLE IN PORTIONS OF THE
  WATCH AREA.

* RAIN IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN THURSDAY MORNING AND MAY BECOME HEAVY
AT TIMES THURSDAY AFTERNOON INTO THURSDAY NIGHT. RIVERS AND
STREAMS ARE ALREADY HIGH AND ADDITIONAL RAINFALL WILL LIKELY
BRING THESE LEVELS ABOVE FLOOD STAGE. IN ADDITION...RUNOFF IS
EXPECTED TO BE HIGHER THAN USUAL DUE TO THE NEARLY SATURATED
GROUND RESULTING IN MORE WIDESPREAD FLOODING.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE
FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE
PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.
