“Alarming” but not criminal. So says a New York district attorney regarding sexual harassment allegations against Assemblyman Vito Lopez.
Daniel Donovan acted as a special prosecutor to look into claims made by Assemblyman Vito Lopez's staff. 50 interviews later, Donovan found Lopez's conduct was inappropriate but with no basis for a chargeable offense. Coincidentally, a separate report from the State of New York Joint Commission on Public Ethics also released on May 15, details the complaints staff made. They range from playing footsy to attempts to get an employee to share a hotel room. Threats are frequent among the allegations.
