Armed with a warrant, the Bethlehem Police Department raided the Golden Town Buffet on Monday, August 5 and arrested four people who were electronically ripping people off, police said.
Police say the ringleader is Heng Li, 27, of Brooklyn had a credit card skimming device. Police are still trying to discern just how much personal identification information was on the device. Li was also found to be in possession of a counterfeit Michigan identification card, police said.
Min Chen, 47, and Zhi Yun Lui, 39, who both listed their address as the Golden Town Buffet, as well as Qiaimin Zheng, 18, who stated she was homeless, were all found to have outstanding federal warrants for deportation, according to BPD Detective Adam Hornick. Chen, Lui and Zheng were turned over to federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security, Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement for further action.
Li was charged with felony counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, Scheme to Defraud and misdemeanor counts of Unlawful Possession of a Skimmer Device and Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification Information. Li was also charged with having an outstanding federal warrant for deportation, police said. Li was arraigned in the Town of Bethlehem Justice Court and sent to the Albany County Jail without bail. He is scheduled to return to Bethlehem Court on Thursday, August 8.
